Analysis
Montana has begun stakeholder engagement for RHTP implementation. The state has one of the highest concentrations of rural and frontier populations in the country, and a significant tribal presence — seven federally recognized tribes with substantial reservation land. The eventual solicitation design will be closely watched for tribal set-aside provisions, CAH eligibility (Montana has many critical access hospitals), and frontier-specific criteria.
